More Accolades for Robin

Geesh, I'm glad I was nice to her. Robin just can't stop getting prints accepted into shows. 

One of her prints was accepted in the Dreams Show at the Honolulu International Country Club. (I thought country clubs were a Southern thing? Aloha, y'all.) The photograph was taken at Hilo.

The show runs from September 10 - November 5. Congratulations, Robin. You go, girl!

Congratulations to Robin

Congratulations to my blogger friend Robin Scanlon, who recently had a print accepted in the Commitment to Excellence Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce Exhibition at the Academy Art Center at Linekona. The image that was accepted, pictured above, is Onomea, a photograph she took at Onomea Bay outside of Hilo. Beautiful!

And we all need to work on coming up with a word for the multitude of friends we make while blogging that we wouldn't know if we passed on the street. I found a term is drastically needed after explaining to several hosts and hostesses in Nashville that I was there to meet a group of six men and I had no idea what any of them looked like. (Yes, I got a lot of "We're not that kind of business here, missy" looks.)

Nassau Dreaming

Robin Scanlon reports in from her photo shoot in Nassau - she's staying at the Four Seasons. Her verdict? Beautiful but expensive. And she's getting paid to visit. No fair.

(Expensive or not, I'm insanely jealous as we've had a hot and rainy day here. I got drenched taking the dog for a walk by one of those surprise Southern showers - it looks like it has cleared and you get about a mile from the house and then the bottom falls out.)
