The Alabama Historical Commission has voted to transfer responsibilities for ferry service connecting Fort Morgan and Dauphin Island to the state Department of Transportation.
No ferry service has run across the mouth of Mobile Bay since Sept. 16, when Hurricane Ivan destroyed the dock on the Fort Morgan side.
