A branch of NASA that you've probably never heard of - the Aviation Safety Reporting System - catalogues near-miss air accidents from a branch in Moffett Field in Santa Clara County in California. The ASRS collects voluntarily submitted aviation safety incident/situation reports from pilots, controllers, and others. It's an anonymous, non-punitive reporting system, and highlights are collected in a monthly newsletter, Callback.
Think twice if you're flying soon (like me), but if you still want to subscribe to the newsletter, you can do so here! (Past issues are available here.) The National Transportation Safety Board also catalogs accident reports here.
