We have two big oak trees fairly close together in our yard. We have come up with all sorts of things we COULD do here...but then I saw this on Pinterest.
I am in love. With my new life. After this is in my backyard. I imagine all of the elaborate Gatsby-like outdoor parties in my future just from this one addition to my life. I mention casually to my husband that someone on Pinterest has made a table from a door that would look great between our trees. He says to show it to him and he'll see what he can do.
I find it on the Pinterest and bring it on over. He does not seem quite as enthused as me...
"It's a table. That is also a swing."
"Yes. But it's got four rope supports," I note.
"Four rope supports. On one branch. Still makes it a SWING. That you could TRY to eat on... Maybe we could add a support bar between our two trees and that would help with stabilization."
"A support bar?" I cried. "But that would spoil the mood. Look at this picture. Look at the MOOD. A support bar? Totally mood spoiled."
"Look at this picture," he adds. "Notice no one is EATING at this table."
Well, he does have a point.
Hmmm. Maybe I could cover the support bar with a few hundred strands of twinkle lights! ;)
