"We dare not trust our wit for making our house pleasant to our friend, so we buy ice cream."
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
In 1984, President Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month and the third Sunday of the month (July 15 this year) as National Ice Cream Day. He recognized ice cream as a fun and nutritious food that is enjoyed by a full 90% of the nation's population. In the proclamation, President Reagan called for all people of the United States to observe these events with "appropriate ceremonies and activities."
Who am I to second-guess President Reagan?

And when your tongue can take no more ice cream, try me-ander's tongue recipe. Or a nice glass of wine. Or a cheese log. Have a cookie. Or s'mores. Or a piece of cake. Or navy bean shrimp salad. (For sure you should test your glycemic index after sampling all of these recipes. And you may want to consider the cabbage soup diet too.) ;)

Thanks for including our article. I'll be sure to submit more in the future, and you're welcome to submit to our weekly carnival as well:
