Sam's Town in Tunica has announced a special benefit concert featuring country music star Buddy Jewell to assist with relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The special charity event featuring the 2003 Nashville Star winner will be held Monday, September 12, at 8 p.m. in Sam's Town Casino’s River Palace Entertainment Center in Tunica. All proceeds from the concert will benefit the Central Mississippi Chapter of the American Red Cross with Sam’s Town contributing an initial casino donation of $15,000 to the relief fund. Jewell is donating his time and talents at no charge for the special performance.

In addition to Sam's Town Tunica Casino’s $15,000 check, the hotel is donating rooms and is covering related concert production costs.
Memphis Motorsports Park will also be on site to aid in the relief benefit with their authentic NASCAR Busch Series show car on display. The popular speedway plans to have a portion of all ticket sales available for their NASCAR Busch Series Sam’s Town 250 race on October 22nd sold at the concert to go directly to the Red Cross relief effort.
