Sweetwater Jade is a Jackson-area harmony trio beginning to make waves all over. The members of the group - all teenagers - are Jeanna Upchurch, Whitney Hennigan and Kelsey Carroll. They recently released a self-titled country CD.
Their vocal coach is Kim Wood Sandusky, based in Nashville, who helped mold Destiny's Child into success. They have been singing together for eight years (and the oldest is only 18). In 2000, they entered as a group in the Mississippi State Fair talent competition. (They won third place.)
They will open May 10 for Randy Travis at Brandon Day. On May 23, they will open for Taylor Swift at the Montgomery Jubilee Cityfest in Alabama.
