Eight things you (probably) didn't know about me

My new online friend Ontario Emperor tagged me, so here goes. (And I am one of his online friends that doesn't know his real name - makes me wonder if he's in the witness protection program or something. Sheesh!) ;)

    1. Even if I complain, I secretly love memes. (In fact, I even propagated a meme about memes once. It was a self-fulfilling prophesy.) But I've always hated the word "meme." I know not why.
    2. I haven't spoken to my biological mother since I was 18. When I say "mom," I am referring to my stepmother, who raised me.
    3. When I was in second grade (in Catholic school nonetheless), there was a girl with the most awesome pencil case - all kinds of pencils, erasers, sharpeners. It was breathtaking. She was always preening with those pencils. I detested her and those pencils. I stole that pencil case - and I didn't get caught even. I hid it for months. I wouldn't even keep it in my house - I had a secret hiding place. I could never use the pencils out in the open (because I would get caught). Those pencils never brought one minute of enjoyment to me when they were "mine." They became an onus, a weight upon my chest, a dark secret. It was a very important lesson that I learned very early in life.
    4. I've never learned to iron. It's sad. Over the years, I'll give it one more try, but I swear the clothes look just the same after I've finished ironing them as when I started. I just make it a point now to buy clothes that require no ironing or take them to the dry cleaners if I break down and buy something that needs to be ironed.
    5. I danced on the bar at Coyote Ugly in Nashville. It was so fun I had to do it again. And again. (And, I think, again. They told me to fill out a job application or sit the hell down - or something like that.) ;)
    6. I recently received a balloon bouquet...special delivery. I was just sitting on the loveseat now at my Proustian perch - and they flew right to me. It was the most amazing thing!
    7. I have an indentation above my right eye that most think is a dimple, but my grandmother had me on her hip and went to bend down to get something out of a car and hit my head on the door tip right by my eye. I still have a scar. I also still have a scar from a three-wheeler accident on my leg. And a scar from cutting my finger on glass at Gulfport Lake on the middle finger on my right hand. I have two scars on my back from when the doctor cut pieces of my skin out to see if two "spots" were cancerous. (The answer was no, thank goodness.)
    8. I made the Tweeterboard Top 100 for the first time this weekend. (Of course, things like this are silly and frivolous...until you yourself get on them. Then they are absolute wisdom!) ;) Tweeterboard popularity is fleeting so I had to take pictures before I went away...

Now, I have to tag eight people. I pick Marina Martin, because she was the person I talked to most on Twitter according to my stats. And she introduced me to Damon and Ward, who are also now officially tagged. They introduced me to Jason, who is also tagged. And I'm tagging Riannan because she's always looking for blog fodder anyways. And Joan, because she needs more excuses to take pictures anyways - and I give her permission to show us eight things in pictures. And Becky, of course - because she needs something to take her mind off of all that remodeling stuff anyways. And, last but not least, my friend and new mom, Kristen, whom I'm sure has lots of free times on her hands anyways now that she's a mother! (And please make your eight juicy so I have something to bribe you with later.) ;)
