Finding TV shows on the Web is more complicated than ever this fall, with networks offering their shows on dozens of platforms from XBox Live to Joost. These sites and services boil down to two basic categories: downloads and video streams. A video stream is free, but episodes are often taken down after a few weeks and need to be watched at a computer. Downloads usually cost $1.99 but can be watched on a mobile device anytime.
