What prompted you to start your blog? Insomnia (and curiosity) - a deadly combination
What's the most surprising thing to come out of your blogging? Discovering that there are people just as weird (and nice) as me all over the world.
When did you first recognize you were a serious eater? I'm from Mississippi - the most obese state in the nation. We are BORN serious eaters. ;)
Favorite comfort food? Mashed potatoes and gravy
Guilty pleasures? Anything Mexican, ice cream, fair food
What food won't you eat? Pickled beets. Or beets in any form, actually.
What's an unexplored food you'd like to try? Octopus
Favorite food person? I don't watch cooking shows. Period. But several of Emeril's recipes have made it into my permanent recipe file.
Favorite food sites or blogs? I read Serious Eats regularly. I don't even remember how I stumbled upon the blog. But I enjoy it. I also supervise the weekly Carnival of the Recipes, so I get introduced to a lot of food bloggers that have become blog friends over the years.
Describe your perfect meal. I love most all food. The perfect meal I think is more defined by the company or the atmosphere than the offerings. So I will say on a beach or on the sailboat with the person I love most by my side, the stars shining, the wind blowing and the wine pouring...
