My blog friend Gretchen Peters introduced me to my blog friend (and now real-life friend) Barry Walsh. (It's a brave new world and all.) Gretchen and I have been e-mailing for a while now but have not met in person, but I did get to talk to her on the phone on Friday anyways (and Barry e-mailed a picture to her iPhone of the both of us as proof that I'm a real-live person and all).
Barry was playing keyboard for The Boxtops concert in Madison on Friday night, so we met up there. I got to do three of my favorite things - listen to great music, take pictures and spend time with friends. Thanks, Barry, for the invite to come and enjoy. (We'll have to drag Gretchen here next time.) See all of my pictures from the concert here.
Barry has a new album, The Crossing, coming out soon. He is sending a copy my way.
If you - like me - couldn't wait that long, listen to the title song from the album here. (The song makes me want to retreat to a bubblebath with a bottle of wine on ice and just chill in very hot water for a very long time.) "Nigel's Blues" is also on the album. Both are beautiful songs - and have made me very excited about hearing the whole damn thing.
