This cookbook, Fast Food Fix by Devin Alexander, caught my eye because I recently have figured out how to make a kid's meal McDonald's hamburger at home after much experimentation. You have to use ground chuck, only use salt and pepper for seasoning, make the patties very thin and fry them in a frying pan and simultaneously pressing down to make the patties even flatter. Just like McDonald's I tell you...especially if you get the small buns that Wal-Mart sells and heat them up for about 20 seconds in the microwave and buy a jar of dill pickle chips. With ketchup and mustard, you're ready to go. (Yes, Quentin was quite impressed with me that evening.)
Since it's pretty hard to impress a six-year-old boy (or at least mine, these days), I found us some recipes from the book to try:
- Black Jack Burger Sauce (from Backyard Burgers)
- Cinnabon's Classic Cinnamon Roll
- In-N-Out Secret Sauce
- KFC Twister
- McDonald's Big Mac & Big Mad Sauce
- McDonald's French Fries
- Sonic's Tater Tots
- Wendy's Big Bacon Classic
