I have always loved this picture. It was taken on the back porch of what I will always consider home, even though Hurricane Katrina has left it only in my memory.
It shows the craziness - in a good way - that was just daily life really in the house in Gulfport, Miss., that I grew up in. Dress up. Pets. Company coming and going all the time. Fishing in the pond. Come meet my new best friend. The Zehnder Zoo is how I often referred to it.
I always thought it would have made a great Norman Rockwell painting.
