Here is the picture of the tree on my house - after my husband shaved off half of it with a chainsaw during the storm. The tree was so heavy that the whole house was groaning under the weight. The tree is so big that it starts on the back corner of our 2,000 square foot house and goes all the way to the front corner.
He and a friend got up there during the storm and started lopping limbs off. Here are all the limbs that piled up.
Yet another tree fell from our neighbor's yard onto our shed.
Quentin was in his room when the tree fell. We were very lucky nothing happened to him. Several people have died in Jackson from trees falling on their house during this storm. But water was seeping in and you can see the wall busting open a little at the top from the weight - so we're going to be faced with replacing the roof and the sheetrock, at the very least (if the tree doesn't go ahead and fall all the way in).
But the other statue of liberty on the other side of his room was fine. Let freedom ring. (Melanie, notice the fake fish aquarium that I told you Quentin and you shared.) ;)

A neighbor's uprooted tree with Quentin and their dog by it for measuring. (And that's a seven-foot privacy fence it busted open.)
But all's well that end's well. We have those we love with us - even Quentin, who brought Blue Bear to the hotel. (Blue Bear was brought to him by his grandpa - whom he adores - when he was born at the hospital. He and Blue Bear have been inseparable since.)
