Kristen goes all-out crazy!

Kristen

Congratulations to Half-Crazy member Kristen - who went all-out crazy and ran a full marathon with her Team-In-Training. She finished the full marathon (26.2 miles) in 5:09:32. There were a total of 15,000 participants: 11,977 were runners, 7,769 ran the half marathon (13.1 miles) - 7,402 female, 367 male, 4,208 ran the full marathon (26.2 miles) - 3,958 female, 250 male.

Kristen finished with an overall placement of 1,826 out of the 4,208 who ran the marathon, putting her in the top 43% (or the top half-crazy as we like to call it.) She finished 1,680 out of the 3,958 females, putting her in the top 42% there. (So, in other words, she ran like a girl and still finished before 221 men!) In her age group (30-34) for females, Kristen finished 305 out 690, putting her in the top 44%!

Congratulations, Kristen! We all aspire to be as crazy as you one day. ;)

Over the River Five-Mile Run

Several of our half-crazy group members are heading to Vicksburg on Oct. 14 for the Over the River Five-Mile Fun Run. The hills will be good training for our 15k race at Lake Caroline in November. If you are interested in joining in the half-crazy carpool, be sure and let Susan know. You can register for the race here.

For those of you who missed this past Saturday, several of us did nine miles for the first time. (Some, like me, for the first time in my life.) The weather cooled off just for us, so it wasn't as bad as I thought. (But I have definitely begun to feel it more after we passed the seven-mile mark.) We had a group that walked three miles and one that just ran six too - so don't think you have to run nine if you show up.

After the pleas for more testosterone, Tony even joined us once again. You have to admire a man who keeps running with a gaggle of half-crazy women!

Kristen is getting ready to head to San Francisco for her marathon, so be thinking happy thoughts for her this month - and if you haven't made your contribution yet, now would be a good time.

Good luck, Kristen! We'll all be thinking about you.
